It's Christmas alread?! Where Have I been?

Hello my little ladies!  I must say.....I miss you guys.  I feel so out of touch with everyone!  My sweet Kaylyn has had bronchitis and has been feeling very low with Mommy Fever these last few weeks.  It seems to be a continual battle with sickness around here.  I, myself, do not have time to get sick...but Ii jumped me when I had my guard down!  I was ambushed!  So, I have been sitting on the couch with Kaylyn watching Christmas movies with hot soup....tissues and a heating pad!  I pray you guys are in good health and enjoying the season!

Mrs. Kelly said the parade was a success!  I am sad that I missed it....but I was pushing forward under a tent in the Mary Ross Park area.  Our booth did "okay" - the wind was something crazy though!  We were holding down the tent in between sales.....I felt like Mary Poppins at times!  :)

Okay......lets talk about the meeting on Tuesday, December 13, OUR CHRISTMAS PARTY!!!!  Same time: 4-5:30.  We will be playing Bingo and if weather permits...a hayride! We will be making cards for wounded soldiers.  ALSO: We would like for every girl to bring a can item for the food bank AND socks, small lotions, or powders...etc...for the baskets we will be making.  The baskets will go to the folks at FairHaven.  That brings me to: December 19th - we will be caroling at FairHaven.  Times and etc....will be announced by Mrs. Melba.  Check your emails on that!

CHRISTMAS IS VERY CLOSE!!!!!  I HOPE YOU ALL ARE BEING THE GREAT DAISIES YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO BE!

Well, ladies........I have a ton of things to get done before my little one wakes up....so let me get going with it.....then I think I will sit down to a nice cup of hot soup!

Looking into January.............2012~~~~~~ wow!!!!

Jr & Cadettes - will wear your Christmas trees you made. Melba will have your costumes there at line-up. Dress warm, but not bulky....your trees won't fit over bulky clothing. Jr &.Cadettes also walk.

We will walk with other girl scouts, but we carry the Keep Brunswick Golden Isles Banner. So, we will be in front of the girl scout banner.

When walking, please tell your Brownie, Jr or Cadette to stay with our troop/behind our banner.

TALENT SHOW!!!!

Okay ladies.......we haven't talked much abou this .....mainly because it has creeped up on us sooooo fast!  Mrs. Kelly and I have talked about doing a show with black light and sign language.  We would like for everyone to purchase a black jogging suit (it will be painted on...so don't spend a lot of money on it!!!!)  - I will work on the white gloves for everyone and florescent paints!  We will be working with the brownies...doing a song in sign!  So excited!  AND it will be at the RITZ!!!!!!

Here is an email I received from Mrs. Melba:

I just received an email with the talent show registration form attached and asking for the registration forms to be turned in tomorrow night (Thursday).  We can still turn them in at a later time, but if there are duplicate songs, the first entry will get to perform and the following will have to pick another act/song.  The leaders will take care of the group acts.  If your daughter is doing a solo act, please fill out the attached form and drop off to the church tomorrow (Thursday) between 1 & 3:45 p.m.  Please come to the side doors leading into the sanctuary.

Each girl can do 1 solo and 1 group (2+).

Our Group Acts:

*  Daisys & 2nd Grade Brownies are doing a song together.

*   Jrs will be doing a group entry.

*   Cadettes will be doing a clown act as their group entry.

TALENT SHOW REGISTRATION WILL BE ADDED SOON SO YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT FROM HERE! KEEP CHECKING IN!

Check this out ladies!

Hey ladies.....my apologies on being slack concerning the blog!  If you could only imagine what my household is going through - BUT GOD IS GOOD!  Enjoy the season with loved ones....and make sure you check out the sister blog...www.troop30024.blogspot.com  as well!  Follow it!  I post things that Mrs. Melba sends me through email.  Here is one now!

I hate to ask everyone to please bring their forms, but they are requesting that we turn in the purple and the permission forms for cookie sales tomorrow night at our leader meeting.

I will be at the church from 1-3:45 p.m. tomorrow.  You can turn in your talent show forms at the same time.

I have attached the file for the "purple form" (which you do NOT have to print in purple), the permission to be on cookie club and the permission to sell cookies (requires your social security number - not the girl's SS#).  Here the names I have so far:

I have all forms needed for:
  *  Aimee Yeomans
  *  Ashley Cowman
  *  Cheri Williams
  *  Hannah Williams
  *  Karsyn Long
  *  Natalie Martin
  *  Riley Robertson
  *  Sabbrina Yeomans
  *  Shelby Ryals
  *  Sophia Allem

I still need Cookie Permission (Only) for:
  *  Andrea Thompson
  *  Gabriella Careri
  *  Kendra Niehaus
  *  Skylar Tiner

I need all 3 forms for:
  *  All remaining girls.

I need the "Purple Form" - Understanding you can't go on the trip should your daughter sell 1000 or over 1500 boxes, the Cookie Club Permission Form & the Cookie Seller permission form for all remaining girls.  The forms are attached.  I will have a few copies if you do not have access to a printer.

DON'T FORGET MY LITTLE DAISIES!

Our last meeting of the month is Tuesday, November 22nd.
We have a treat scheduled for our girls during this time.  Our Juniors & Cadettes do what we call a "Brunswick Experience" where we go out and experience what Brunswick has to offer.  Last month we went to Yomania....Yum!  This month we are asking everyone to join us at:

Color Me Happy (downtown across from Fox Pizza)

4-5:30 p.m.

We will meet at Color Me Happy and NOT the church.
Bring $6 and the troop account will pay $6 per girl.  Each girl will choose up to a $12 piece of pottery to paint.  If she wants a more expensive piece, she can add her own money to purchase her favorite piece.  If you have already bought a piece and never finished it, you can take it in at that time.

Please RSVP so we can give Color Me Happy an accurate count.

AND....

THANK YOU TO ALL THAT WERE INVOLVED WITH COOKIES FOR COPS! WHAT A GREAT SUCCESS AND FUN TIME TOGETHER AS A GROUP! I AM SURE EVERYONE THAT TASTES A BITE OF A COOKIE WILL ENJOY EVERY LITTLE BIT!  MAY OUR EFFORTS AND THOUGHTS/PRAYERS BE FOREVER WITH THOSE THAT HELP KEEP US SAFE!

Veteran's Day Parade

Hello my little budding buddies!  I hope you have enjoyed the cold weather here lately!   I was going through all my vacation pictures and remembered....I didn't finish telling you ALL about our week!  No worries......let's get this past Saturday posted and then I promise to back on sometime this week to post the rest of my Williamsburg pictures!

Now.............................ON TO THE MARCH!

Thank YOU to all the soldiers, past and present, that have put your lives out there so we may live free. I can not  imagine the pain and loneliness one must feel to let a loved one go and fight for those they do not know. Mothers & Fathers that have let go of sons...wives of husbands...and children of daddies.  I want to say thank you! Thank you for the freedom that you unselfishly give. With PRIDE and RESPECT - I give my utmost admiration.....THANK YOU, soldiers, for defending our nation!

Thank you, also, GIRLS SCOUT TROOP 30024 for stepping up and putting one foot in front of the other in support during the parade!  Yes, it was a brisk walk from here to there...and back around to here again :) - but you did it ...and did it with pride! I thank you too! Thank you for being an example of grace, and love.  The gleam of light that flickered in the Veteran's eyes when asked to have a picture with us was something I will never forget.  If we could only get inside their head to relive the agonies and pains of war.....they endure(ed) for OUR freedom....not one complaint of feet hurting...cold air...or hunger would have been uttered from our mouths.  What a joy and utmost respect I have for those that make MY country what it is....and pay the price to keep it free! Thank you Girl Scouts for making them feel it WAS worth it all!!!!

WHAT A WONDERFUL AND BLESSED DAY WE HAD!
THANK YOU GIRLS FOR MAKING THE DAY SPECIAL!
